I spotted this foundation in Tesco and thought I would try it. I have never really liked any Rimmel foundations. I love their eye, lip and cheek products but just never been impressed with their foundations. I wondered if this one would change my opinion.
At £7.99 it is a good price and there are 6 shades available too. It claims it is a: “New Fresher Skin Foundation with SPF 15, light breathable coverage for an even, natural-looking, fresh finish that stays shine-free all day.”
I do not like heavy make up so thought this would suit me.
I chose the colour 400 natural beige. However it did oxidise after an hour, so would possibly be better with a lighter shade.
I have to say from the start, I did not like the packaging. Once opened the jar has an open lid so if you did drop it, all the foundation will fall out everywhere. Plus you have to stick your brush or finger into the foundation each time. This will spread bacteria into the foundation.
The foundation itself is quite a thick liquid to touch. I applied it using a kabuki brush and buffed it into my skin in circular motions.
I really like how it applied. It covered really well whilst still remaining light on the skin. It has a fresh spa like smell. It evened out my skin tones. I then applied concealer and pressed powder to finish.
I was impressed with the finished look. My skin looked flawless but still fresh looking. It didn’t feel heavy on my skin either.
After about an hour it had oxidised and looked a bit dark for me.
After 8 hours it still looked good, a little bit shiny on my t-zone but not too bad. My bronzer and blusher were still visible which was really good.
Overall I really like the foundation, I liked the finish and it lasted really well. Didn’t like the jar/pot though. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you like lighter foundations. I can see myself using this as my everyday foundation from now on.
