Makeup Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Light and Shade Review

This post is about a new eye shadow palette I have been using for the past couple of weeks called the Ultra Eye Contour Light and Shade by Makeup Revolution. I was drawn to it following reviews online saying how it was a dupe for the Kat Von D’s Shade + Light Contour Palette, which was a palette I fancied trying but didn’t really want to pay the price tag of £36.00. The colours are almost identical as you can see in the photo. So at £8.00 from Superdrug I thought it was worth a try!

It contains 12 matte colours. Each third of the box is set up in with 4 complimentary shadows, allowing you to use them together to get lots of different looks. What I really like about this palette is the main colours you tend use for example a soft warm brown crease shade, a yellow based highlight shade and a cooler brown crease colour, come in a larger size. I always use these up quite quickly in my regular sets so was super impressed to see these in larger pans.

The colours are really pigmented and they blend really nicely. The range of colours allows you to create lots of warm and cooler eye looks. You can keep them quite subtle for the day or build them up to a heavier eye for a night out. There is also very little fall out. They apply well and last all day, even without a eye primer.

The packaging on the Kat Von D palette is much nicer compared to the Makeup Revolution Palette which is quite cheap black plastic with no mirror, but the actual eyeshadows are great quality. I am happy to put up with the cheap packaging and save £28.00!

I am so impressed with this eye shadow palette. You can use it for any occasion as it contains all the colours you need without having to reach for another palette, which I find often happens. There are, crease colours, dark shades and light high-light shades. At £8.00 I can’t recommend this enough! I am so glad I didn’t but the Kat Von D palette.

Available from www.superdrug.com for £8.00. Plus they have an offer on at the moment where you can get a free palette when you spend £10 on and Makeup Revolution products.
