The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer

The Balm Bahama Mama matte Bronzer

Today’s review looks at bronzers. As a true follower of Benefit Hoola, all other bronzers have never come even close. Until now…

I have a bit of an obsession with the Balm products. Mary Lou manizer and the NUDE’tude eye shadow palette are amongst my favourite makeup products of all time. If you have never tried the Balm products then you are missing out. They are sold online and in various shops such as Superdrug and Debenhams. The products are in the higher price bracket compared to drugstore but they are excellent quality.

The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer is a bronzer that has great reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I am not a chiseled contour, super bronzed lover, but I do use a bit of bronzer every day across my cheeks and around my forehead just to give me a bit of colour. I also apply a bit into the hollows of my cheeks and to the sides of my nose to add a slight contour, but only to give a very subtle/natural look.

Bahama Mama is a matte brown powder bronzer with a neutral tone so it isn’t too warm or cool. It is a good shade so will suit many different skin tones. It is very similar to Benefit Hoola so if you are someone who, like me, loves Hoola then you will like this. It is excellent used as eye shadow and brow filler too. I apply it with a big soft brush, which allows me to distribute it gradually and build up the colour. It is also, like all the Balm powder products, talc free and cruelty free.

The packaging is so good. To be fair, all the Balm packaging is fab. They have really nailed this part of their brand. It is very retro and fun. This bronzer comes in a sturdy cardboard packaging with a big mirror. There is no brush though, which I don’t mind as I use a big brush with my bronzer anyway. I think the price is good at £17.49 for 7.08g compared to Hoola, which is £23.50 for 8g.

I am really enjoying using this bronzer. I think it is an excellent product. The shade and quality are good and it applies lovely. I still love my Hoola but it is nice to go between the two.

  1. I’m obsessed with The Balm but I haven’t tried Bahama Mama yet. Like you I’m not much of a bronzer person, I have a Wetnwild one on the go for the past 8/9 months I never make my way through them but I wouldn’t mind picking this up the next time it looks pale enough which I love

  2. I bought this bronzer on a whim a few months ago and I am in love! The shade is a little too dark for me to use around my forehead and my temples, but it is perfect for a subtle everyday contour to the hollows of my cheeks. And the packaging is amazing! Sturdy, yet light enough for travelling. Thanks for sharing!!
