Sonya Skin Care Review

Recently I was asked to trial the Sonya Skin Care range by Forever Living Products. I was a bit skeptical if I’m honest as I had not heard of the brand before, but as an inquisitive beauty blogger I had to give them a try. The main ingredient they focus on is Aloe Vera combined with white tea and fruit extracts to help to rejuvenate and moisturise your skin.

Skin care, as my regular readers will know, is an important part of my daily routine and I believe it should be incorporated into everyone’s lifestyle, no matter what skin type you have. I cleanse, tone, add serum and moisturise twice a day and exfoliate twice a week.

I was presented with a box of 5 products and a booklet about each product and the best way to use them. So, I replaced my usual products with the Sonya range for 1 week and monitored the results. I have listed the products in the order I used them:

Aloe Purifying Cleanser
£27.91 for 177ml

 Claims to:

  • Gently removes make up and impurities without over drying
  • Leaves face soft, fresh and clean

My Verdict:

This is a creamy rich cleanser with a gorgeous citrus smell. I applied it using my fingers and really massaged it into my face. I then used a cotton pad to wipe off the excess. Following this I rinsed my face with warm water and used a towel to pat it dry. I really like this cleanser. I felt it really cleaned my skin and left it feeling refreshed. It performs exactly like they claim.

Aloe Deep-Cleansing Exfoliator
£27.91 for 177ml

Claims to:

  • Deep Cleanse and gently exfoliate without irritation
  • Removes dead skin cells leaving skin fresher and softer
  • Moisturises as it exfoliates

My Verdict:

I loved this exfoliator. I used it twice in the week following the cleanser. I applied it to my wet face with my fingers and really massaged it in. I then rinsed it off with warm water. It is creamy and rich like the cleanser and contains little particles, which exfoliate the skin. It is very gentle and my skin felt really smooth and full cleansed afterwards.

Aloe Refreshing Toner
£20.95 for 118ml

 Claims to:

  • Provide vital moisture to help keep skin hydrated

My Verdict:

This is a clear liquid again with the same citrus smell. I applied it using a cotton pad over my face following the cleanser. It is gentle and refreshing and importantly alcohol free which I prefer as I have sensitive skin. My skin felt lovely after this. Completely refreshed. It wasn’t tight either, which is a good sign with a toner as many feel like my skin has been stripped. I liked this toner but I’m not sure I would pay the price for it.

Aloe Nourishing Serum
£34.69 for 118ml

 Claims to:

  • Preserve and replenish your skin to help maintain a youthful appearance
  • Leaves the skin soft all day

My Verdict:

This is a nice product. It has a very light gel like texture that absorbs into the skin well. I applied 2-3 pumps like suggested and massaged it into my skin paying attention to my forehead, and other areas that I feel show aging. I’m not sure about how it helps with aging as I only used it for a week and would need to use it for a couple of months to get a true result. My friends use this product though and say it is fantastic.

Aloe Balancing Cream
£26.63 for 71g

 Claims to:

  • Rich face cream helps restore and balance skin’s natural moisture
  • Exfoliates build up of dead skin cells to leave a radiant appearance

My Verdict:

LOVE this moisturiser. It is my favourite out of all the Sonya Skin Care products. It comes in a pot with a little spatula, which allows you to scoop some out onto the back of your hand. I then applied it to my face. It smells lovely like the other products. It is a rich cream/gel type texture that absorbs well. A little goes a long way. It melted into my skin and left my skin feeling amazing. I could definitely see a glow and radiance to my face. My skin stayed balanced all day and even in the morning when I woke. Sometimes I find moiturusers and night creams can leave my T-zone a little greasy by the time I wake up but with this my skin looked great the next day. I will be purchasing this when my current moisturizer runs out.

My Overall Opinion of the Sonya Skin Care Products

I was very impressed with the Sonya Skin Care products. From the very first time I used them my skin felt so good and looked healthy and glowing. It felt like I had been for a facial. My favourite product was the Aloe Balancing Cream, which is one of the nicest mositurisers I have ever tried. I also loved the exfoliator.

They are quite expensive but you get what you pay for with these products. They are high-end quality and the results were very impressive. They are priced in the same bracket as Clinique and Elemis and are just as good as these brands. My only negative is the packaging which I feel is a bit old fashioned and could do with an update but the actual products are lovely and you feel pampered after using them.

  1. I started using these products in December 2017 and I love them. I used to have break outs often and now they’ve reduced. I want to use them longer to see if the break outs are eradicated. Before that I didn’t really have a face care regime so I’m really enjoying these.
