Today I continue with the Beauty Bloggers Brawl 2017 challenge. As mentioned in my introduction post (Introduction). The Beauty Bloggers Brawl is a daily blog post undertaken by a group of beauty bloggers who will be challenging each other to a daily top trump game reviewing beauty products. We have been given specific categories but can choose our own brand and product to review. We will rate the product, packaging and price out of 100 then create a top trump card to represent our product.
Day 7’s review is about face primers.
Flawless Original Primer by Barry M
£5.99 from www.superdrug.com
For my face primer I chose Barry M’s Flawless Original Primer. I spotted it in Superdrug and thought I would give it a try. I struggle with primers. I have found it very hard to get a good drugstore primer. The only one I tend to use and like is Maybelline’s Instant Pore Eraser primer. So I was excited to review this primer.
- An oil-free smoothing serum for all skin types.
- Infused with soothing Willow extract & Vitamin E to create the perfect make-up base
- Pore minimising
- Smoothes and mattifies.
Product – 90/100
I really liked this primer. I tend to use silicon based clear coloured primers. This one is white and more of a cream consistency. It minimises my pores and leaves my skin feeling nice. I have combination skin. It leaves my T-zone matte but hydrates my dry patches too which is perfect for my skin type. My makeup applies well over it and it does seem to prolong the durability of my face makeup throughout the day. I believe any skin type could use this.
Packaging – 90/100
I think the packaging is good for this product. You get 30ml, which is a good amount of product for a primer. It has a pump lid, which allows just enough product to dispense into your hand cleanly without any mess. It has a screw up mechanism too which reduces as the product gets used up. It has a slightly see through tube to allow you see the product too so you can see when it is running out.
Price – 95/100
This is great value at £5.99. As I mentioned above you get a lot of product and it is a good quality primer too.
This is one of my favourite products from the Beauty Bloggers Brawl challenge.
