My July Birchbox has arrived and yet again I am very impressed with the contents. This is only my 2nd Birchbox, you can find the review from my First Birchbox here. Firstly, the box is just gorgeous. I love the style of the box with a little draw as I keep my boxes to store my makeup in. By having a draw, it is so handy. The box is pale blue with warm pink in colour and has a simple sunset picture on top. The theme for the July Birchbox is Summer daze. It focuses on long summer warm nights (obviously not always in UK!) There is a great variety of products inside from a range of high street and high-end brands. There are 6 products in the box, 1 is full size and the rest of travel/trial size.
Gogotint Lip & Cheek Stain by Benefit
Trail Size – RRP £26.50
This is my favourite item in the box. Benefit Cosmetics are my favourite brand of makeup. This is a bright pink liquid colour that can be applied to the cheeks to add a flush of colour of to the lips as a pink stain. I have several of these benefit lip and cheek tints. I actually prefer this trial size as it super handy to pack when traveling. Plus, you only need a tiny amount of product so they last forever. You dab a tiny amount onto your cheeks and the blend in with your fingers. It is very pigmented so you don’t need much. It adds a subtle colour to the cheeks that looks natural. Perfect for holidays. It was great as Birchbox actually let you choose your colour before your box arrived too.
Flash Cleanse Micellar Water by Balance Me
Travel Size – RRP £16.00
This is a 99% natural cleansing water with soothing chamomile and mandarin oils. It claims to sweep away traces of makeup and grim without irritation leaving skin glowing. I love micellar water and use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water every night to take off my makeup and cleanse my face. You can see my full review here. Micellar Water is a great way to remove makeup and cleanse. I was intrigued to try this one as I really do like the Garnier one. I apply it to a cotton pad and wipe my makeup away. It has really impressed me. I really like this product. It has a really mild smell, nothing too overpowering. It is really gentle on my skin and left it feeling really hydrated. No tightness at all. I am saving this product now as this travel size will be perfect to take on my holiday next month.
Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery by Percy & Reed
Trial Size – RRP £20.00
I like this brand. I have tried it before when I got a free hair serum with a magazine. This Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery cream did not disappoint either, (apart from the extremely long name that I keep needing to type!) It is a conditioning treatment that you apply to your hair overnight. It claims to hydrate, boost shine and fight frizz. Last night, I smoothed it through my dry hair before bed, from the roots to the tips. It dried quick so I didn’t end up with product all over my pillows which was good. This morning, I shampooed out the product as suggested. I then dried my hair as usual. I have very fine hair which constantly looks flat. The Overnight Recovery Cream seems to have really thickened my hair, adding lots of volume. It is also smooth and very soft. I am impressed with the cream, although I am not sure if I would pay £20 for a hair conditioner.
Hammam Delight Foaming Shower Gel by Rituals
Travel size – RRP £4.50
This is a shower gel that claims to refresh your skin. It is a gel style formula that transforms to a foam when applied to wet skin. It reminds me of a shaving gel. It applies nicely and really foams up on the skin. It leaves our skin feeling really soft too. The only thing I don’t like is the smell. It is quite a masculine smell, even a bit old fashioned. Not sure if I will use this product again, I may give it to my husband.
Bright Up Your Life Eyeshadow Trio in Champagne Mocha by Pop Beauty
Trail Size – RRP £15.50
This is a trio of brown coloured eyeshadows. It has a neutral beige, a mid-brown with a tint of mauve and a darker brown. The larger pack has 10 eyeshadows but this little sample has 3. I think this sample set is ideal for taking on holiday as the combination of colours allows you to do many looks from neutral day looks to smokey night looks. They are pigmented and blend well. I’m not sure if I would buy the larger pack as from the picture it looks quite basic for £15.50, I don’t know the brand either so will see how the eyeshadows last when I start wearing them more. A lovely little travel set though.
Romance de Provence Eau de Parfum by Catherne Malandrino
Sample bottle – RRP £53.00
This is a little perfume sample. I have left this until last as it really isn’t for me. I like really mild perfumes. This is nice but quite powerful and not a fragrance I would wear. I will be giving it to my friend who I know will love it.
I have yet again really enjoyed the products in the July Birchbox. They are excellent quality and a really good collection of brands from the high street and high-end. Birchbox is an excellent beauty box and they have lots of offers online at Facebook. You can also buy the products from the Birchbox website too. In the past, I have liked products from beauty boxes and then struggled to actually buy them. I would recommend subscribing to the box. It is such a lovely treat each month.
It only costs £10 + £2.95 per month for the exciting Birchbox. A nice little monthly treat! It is available here.
