Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: My Summer Saviour!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Welcome to my review of the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I have always been dubious about setting sprays and didn’t really believe they worked that well, especially if you had oily skin or combination skin like me. I have read many blog reviews about different setting sprays over the past couple of years and they just never made me want to rush out and buy them. The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray however, had me intrigued. Lots of bloggers and You Tubers who I trust were really praising this product. So, when they recently released the travel size for only £10, I had to buy it and give it a try.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
  • Keeps makeup looking good for up to 16 hours without melting, fading or settling into fine lines.
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Oil and parabens free
  • Contains Temperature Control Technology that lowers the temperature of your makeup to stop it from melting away, even on hot humid days.
My Verdict:

I apply the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray once my makeup is finished. I spray it across my face ensuring all areas are covered. It is a very fine mist that gently sprays on your face instead of drowning you and leaving you dripping. It does have a strange smell though, a bit like salad/lettuce (I know it sounds strange!) However, it doesn’t last long and then when set you can’t smell it at all. I would also recommend letting your mascara fully set before applying, or I even apply it before my mascara sometimes, as it can make the mascara run under your eyes if the mascara is still a bit wet.

I have used the setting spray with both powder foundation (MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation) and liquid foundation (Benefit Hello Flawless Wow Oxygen foundation – see a review here for this foundation). It leaves a slight dewy finish, which I prefer. If, however you have oily skin or prefer a matte finish, Urban Decay also have the De Slick Setting Spray which is perfect for oilier skin. When applied to the powder foundation it softens the powder look, making it more natural which is good. It gives the overall appearance of my skin a smoother appearance.

Overall Result:

Okay, so the overall result… did it actually work? Did it keep my makeup set all day? Yes, it did! I am very impressed with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I have not used it for 16 hours so can’t report whether it lives up to that claim, but after about 8 hours, my makeup still looked fine. My foundation had rubbed off my nose a bit but, it is summer and I have allergies, so I spend the day rubbing my nose. I did also have to touch up my liquid foundation half way through the day, but this is more because the foundation looked a bit oily on my T-Zone with the weather being quite hot at the moment. It worked fantastic with the powder foundation though and this is the combination I have been wearing in this hot weather. (I will be doing a Summer makeup routine post soon.)

I am looking forward to taking this on my holiday to Portugal next month as it will a life saver on those hot evenings.

There are two size bottles. The Larger 118ml is £23.50 and the travel size 30ml (which I think is great) is only £10.00. Use my link here, Feelunique* and apply the Promo code: TENOFF to receive 10% off your order.

  1. Ohh I might pick this up before I go on holiday. It could come in handy in the heat, like you said. I’ve tried different ones but never been blown away by the results so not really bothered with them. x
