Today I have another exciting guest blog for you from lifestyle blogger Samantha Braddy looking at new hairstyles to make you feel amazing this Autumn:
What better time for a new haircut than the Autumn? It’s time for a new beginning, and a fresh cut might be just the change you need to give you a boost of energy. Why not head back to work or school feeling yourself, instead of wearing that sad, tired old ponytail every day? Here are some of the most stylish hairstyles for this season.
It takes guts to go super short, but every woman should do it at least once. There’s nothing more liberating than getting rid of most of your hair and all the hassle of styling it. The pixie has been associated with the world’s biggest fashion icons for decades. How to style it? Wash it, dry it, straighten it a tiny bit, if necessary, and you’re ready to go!
Soft and uniform layers
The soft and romantic look is a wonderful way to refresh your long locks. Ask your stylist to layer the hair in the back, but to keep the hair in the front all one length. When you have the time for the added effort, style it with curls or waves using a curling wand. But it will also look amazing just air-dried and texturized using some salt spray.
Blended lob with a bang
If you’re not ready for a drastic cut and would like to keep some length, but still want to look bang on trend, the blended lob is your best bet. The lob has been having a moment, and it’s hardly surprising. The style is dynamic, edgy and effortless. Ask for a layered, shoulder-length lob, and if you can rock them, keep the bangs. Use salt spray to separate and texturize the hair. It can be worn straightened, but it’s trendiest iteration is achieved by giving blow-dried hair some kinks and bends using a large barrel iron.
Textured midi bob
This shoulder-grazing bob is super popular at the moment. It looks great whichever way you style it – straightened, curly or wavy. Another plus is that this length is universally flattering, which means that it fits any face shape. If you have been rocking longer locks for years, maybe it’s time to mix things up a bit. Don’t panic at the sight of scissors. Even if you don’t love your new, shorter style, you can always go back with clip in human hair extensions. Nowadays they are of high quality, look beautiful, and no one can tell it’s not really your hair.
If you are one of those people who have extra-long hair and can’t imagine it any other way, at least update your do with a touch-up. The ends of the Rapunzel are thinned with a razor to give it texture and lightness. It’s relatively easy to maintain, by just braiding your wet hair into a few braids.
Long with angled bangs
This is the signature cut for many celebrities, which is hardly surprising since it’s universally flattering and makes the wearer look instantly put together and feminine. The side-swept bangs complement the chest-length layers.
This playful, chin-length bob will make you look young and edgy, but put-together. It requires minimum effort to style – if you have naturally wavy hair, it’s enough to just help it with a bit of product, and blow dry the side swept front.
Blunt, elongated layers
Another popular choice for long hair, it is texturized by adding layers, but the bottom is kept blunt to give it a modern feel. It looks best with a middle part, styled into soft waves using a large barrel iron.
Don’t be afraid to experiment with length and color. Whether it’s a dramatic transformation or just a little trim, a new style will lend your overall look a new playfulness.
