Christmas is nearly here and as always MAC have splashed out and treated us all to an exciting Christmas range of goodies. This review focuses on the Snowball Mini Lipstick Sets which are just so cute and packaged in a super sexy silver sequin bag with a mirror ball tassel. There are 4 sets of colours: Warm, Cool, Rose and Pink. I have the warm range but in all honesty all sets have beautiful colours in them. I could have easily bought them all.
The Warm coloured set comprises of 3 mini lipsticks; 2 matte red and one nude/golden colour. I am a huge fan of red lipstick. I have to have a red lip on a night out. So this was the best collection for me.
- Tenor Voice: True Classic Red (Matte)
- Just Beaming!: Frosty pale gold (Frost)
- Candy Cane: Intense blue red (Matte)
They all apply well. The mattes are slightly more drying than the frosty gold colour, but that is usual for matte lipsticks. They are all very pigmented, especially the two red colours. The reds have amazing staying power too. Just Beaming leaves a really nice subtle shimmer to the lips. Really nice with a smokey eye.
I really love these sets. The Warm version has the loveliest colours. Both reds are gorgeous and last a long time. They are a bit drying as mentioned earlier, but I apply a bit of lip balm first and it is fine. I also recommend wearing a lip liner with them to stop any bleeding on the edges of your lips. I like the subtle shad of the frosty gold too. I especially like Candy Cane which has a blue undertone. I usually wear Lady Danger which is more of a coral red, so this was a nice tone to wear in the winter months.
The little silver bag is really pretty and great to put makeup in and keep in your handbag. It is really Christmassy and cheers me up. I especially like the size of the lipsticks. They are so handy in your purse or handbag. The fact there is three in the bag is great as it allows you to try new shades and swap the colours about without forking out the usual £16.50 for the normal size version.
These Snowball Mini Lipstick Sets are only £25.00 which I think is a great price for three MAC lipsticks. They would make a great gift or even a lovely treat for yourself! You can buy them from the stores or online here.
