Since it was founded in 1976 The Body Shop has always been praised for not only the ethical beliefs of the company but also the quality of the products. Ever since I was little I have loved spending time in the Body Shop trying all the lovely smelling products. I feel they have simply got better and better and now have a huge range of fantastic skincare and makeup products.
The Body Shop products not only make your skin look and feel good but they make you feel you are helping the world become a better place. They have a Community Trade Programme where they work with a wide range of farmers and suppliers to help communities thrive. They are 100% vegetarian with many vegan products in their ranges and overall, they are completely against animal testing.
Today’s post is reviewing some Body Shop makeup products I have been sampling. I hope you enjoy it…
Mascara Super Volume
£10 for 10ml
- Intense Colour
- Volumising and lengthening
- Ophthalmologically tested
- Suitable for contact-lens wearers
This is a great mascara. The black has a good pigmentation of colour. It applies nicely to the lashes without any clumping. One application provides a nice natural looking lash that adds volume to your normal lash. It is buildable and even after several layers there was still no clumping. It lasts all day without flaking or fading and it does not smudge or transfer to the skin around your eye. It lives up to all the claims. And is a great mascara at a great price.
Make-Up Setting Spray
£8.00 for 60ml
- 100% vegan
- All day wear, fade and smudge resistant
- Prolongs the fresh look of makeup
- Enriched with aloe vera
- Suitable for sensitive skin
I love a setting spray in the summer as I wear powder foundation in the hot weather and a setting spray melts the powder into my skin making it look natural. This is a good setting spray, better than the other drug store ones I have tried. It comes in a handy sized bottle to fit in your handbag too. Allowing you to spray your face throughout the day if you need a bit of a freshen up. The only thing I found was a lot of product comes out when you spray so your face gets quite wet, so you need to let it fully dry to get the full effect and do not hold it too close to your face. I actually apply me setting spray after my foundation and powder products but before my mascara as I find they can make the mascara run. It leaves a semi matte finish to the skin. It helps your makeup last all day.
Honey Bronze™ Highlighting Dome
£9.00 for 6.5g
- A creamy lightweight highlighter
- Natural-look, shimmery highlighter
- Easy to apply and blend
- Infused with smoothing honey
- Available in three attractive shades
The Honey Bronze Dome comes in 3 shades, 01 Highlighter, 02 Blush and 03 Bronzer. I have the 01 Highlighter Dome. I love the compact packaging It is so easy to use. The dome shape allows you to apply it direct to your cheeks and will make sure you get to use all the product. There is nothing worse than not being able to get all the product when it is running low due to poor packaging. It is handy to throw in your bag too and re-use through the day. I apply it with the dome direct onto my cheeks and down the bridge of my nose. I then use my finger to rub it into my skin. It gives a lovely subtle glow to the skin which I prefer. I am not an ‘in your face’ type of highlight person. I like mine to simply make my skin look healthy and glowing. You can layer this product up if you want a more intense effect.
I have really been enjoying these Body Shop makeup products. I feel they are better quality than your average drugstore brand but then not at a break the bank price either.
If you would like to purchase the products feel free to contact my local Body Shop Consultant Siobhan who has great Facebook page you can follow. You can find her on facebook here.
