Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette Review

Smashbox Cover Shot Eyeshadow Palette

I am new to Smashbox as it is not a brand I have really looked at before, probably due to the high priced products. So I was very excited when I got one of their Cover Shot eyeshadow palettes for Christmas. I have been using it for the past month. Here is my review.

There are 9 different palettes to collect in the Cover Shot range. The face of the Cover Shots campaign is model and influencer Jasmine Sanders. All palettes contain a variety of exciting colours that really compliment each other.

The packaging is gorgeous with a hologram style image on the top. It is a smaller palette which is handy when traveling. It also has a good mirror in the lid.

I have the Golden Hour palette which is full of warm browns and golden colours. Perfect for day and night looks. The palette has 2 matte base shadows and 6 silky/shimmer shades. I particularly like the burnt brown colour and purple (no 4 and 5 on bottom row).

Overall, I love most of the colours in the palette, however, some of the lighter nes do not show up on my skin. They are not very pigmented which I was surprised at as this was one of the main claims from Smashbox. However, I don’t really mind this as I prefer to build my colours up gradually. I love the collection of colours as you can use this palette to create a range of different looks. As I mentioned earlier, it is a great palette to take on holiday due to the variety of colours and size of the palette. It is quite pricey at £24.00 though. A nice treat if you want to splash out. You can buy the palette here.

    1. I was surprised too. I have a medium skin tone so may work better on lighter skin. They build up nicely though so I just take my time to layer them up.
