Welcome to April’s Birchbox Review post. This month’s theme is about embracing Spring and being positive. Hope you enjoy my review…
Dew Me Baked Highlighter by Estate Cosmetics
Full size product / RRP: £10.00
This is a baked powder highlighter. It is quite bright when switched on my hand but is a bit more subtle when applied with a brush. Every month there is usually one product where Birchbox give you a choice of shades. I chose the rose coloured version. This is a nice highlighter with a buttery feel on the skin, but I am not a huge highlighter fan to be honest.
The POREfessional by Benefit
Trial size / Full size RRP: £28.00
This is a silicone based silky primer that diffuses pores and leaves a smooth finish for your makeup. I have used this primer a lot in the past. It is a great primer and helps keep your makeup in place all day. The only reason I don’t continue to use it is I feel it is just too expensive. I love this little trail size though. I keep it in my handbag and when my t-zone looks oiley I dab it onto the skin and it worked great as it is skin coloured.
Diamond Eye Pads by Vitamasques
Full size – RRP: £4.99
This is a set of eye pads to place under your eyes to hydrate, de-puff and brighten the under eye area. I am really looking forward to trying these. I have not used an eye mask before.
Body Soufflé by Human + Kind
Trial size / Full size RRP: £16.45
This is a whipped nourishing body cream with aloe Vera and botanical oils. This smells lovely and feels nice on the skin. It leaves your skin feeling very hydrated. I’m not sure I would pay this price for a body cream though as there are lots of fantastic ones on the market at a much lower price.
Wonder Eye Cream by Balance Me
Trial Size / Full size RRP: £20.00
I was excited to see this product as I really like this brand. Birchbox often have products from Balance Me and I am always really impressed with them. I think the price is good for a full size eye cream too. I have been using this for the past few days and it is really hydrating on the under eye area.
Birchbox have changed their box style this month and instead of having a little tray, it has a lid you can lift off with a big mirror on. I think it is a nice idea but I preferred the old style.
I have to say I’m not as impressed with the box as a whole this month. There are some really great products but it didn’t blow me away. However I have loved the past 4 boxes and will no doubt love the next ones. I also feel the price of the box is still such good value for the products, even if you don’t use them all.
You can subscribe to the box or purchase individual products from the Birchbox site. The box is £10.00 + £2.99 postage. Get your first box for just £5 (+ £2.95 P&P) using code THUMPER (Offer ends at midnight on Monday 22nd April 2019).
