May Birchbox Review

It’s that time of the month again. I can’t believe how quickly the year is going! I’ve heard there are mixed reviews on the May Birchbox but I absolutely love mine this month and I’m happy as the box is bag to its usual draw style which I prefer. Enjoy the review…

Eye Pencil by Lord & Berry

Trial size – Full size RRP: £13.00

This is a black eyeliner that applies nicely, has good pigmentation and blends well. I am happy enough with this, however, we had been able to select this or a lip liner prior to delivery and I had actually selected the lip liner. This is a trial size which is really handy as you can keep it in your purse.

Heel Balm by Flexitol

Full size RRP: £11.00

This is a nourishing heel balm to help get your feet sandal ready. I have tried this and it is really rich and sinks into the skin well. I noticed my heels were softer after the first application. This will be really handy in the summer.

Nourishing Mascara by Beautaniq Beauty

Trial size – Full size RRP: £12.00

This is a rich black mascara. It applies well and makes lashes look good. It has almond oil to help nourish the lashes. It is quite natural but when layered up it adds volume to the lashes.

Face Sunscreen SPF50 Mimitika

Trial size – Full size RRP: £17.50

Face sunscreen is something I have researched a lot recently. Since using retinoid in the evenings it is really important I use sunscreen everyday, no matter what the weather. I have not come across this product or brand before. This is a lightweight cream that absorbs well into the skin and feels really hydrating. It doesn’t feel like sunscreen which is a key thing I look for. Makeup applies well over it and it doesn’t leave any white cast on the skin. It’s also a handy little pot to keep I your bag and reapply throughout the day.

Elasticizer by Philip Kingsley

Full size RRP: £9.50

I have been dying to try this pre-shampoo treatment for months so was so excited when I seen it in the box. Bloggers rave about it. You apply it to wet hair and leave for 10 minutes before shampooing as normal. It claims to add elasticity, hydration and shine and help repair damaged hair. I will do a full review on this when I have been using it for a while.

Lastly I received this makeup bag as an extra little gift as this was my 6th box and Birchbox make you a VIP member after 6 months. I also now get 15% discount when I buy anything from their online shop.

You can subscribe to the box or purchase individual products from the Birchbox site. The box is £10.00 + £2.99 postage. If you want to sign up to Birchbox or buy any of the products from their store, click here.
