Enjoy the post…  With the dawn of spring comes longer days, warmer evenings, an abundance of flowers, and meals served outdoors. It also means new colours, trends, and treatments for your beauty routine. Read on for five ways to get your beauty regime spring-ready.

1. Freshen up your skin

At the turn of each season, it is essential that you change up your skin-care regime. After all, the needs of your skin vary throughout the year as the weather and your environment shift. Therefore, before the temperature starts to increase and the humidity comes back, it is time to prep your complexion. To do this, ensure you are regularly exfoliating to remove the dead skin cells and environmental toxins. Follow up your exfoliating sessions with a moisturising mask to ensure your skin is well-hydrated, so it looks fresh and dewy. Additionally, exchange your products with heavy formulas for lighter lotions such as an oil-free moisturiser.

2. Stock up on sunscreen

There is no point investing time and money into the other steps of your skincare routine if you aren’t applying adequate sun protection every day. Springtime is considered a time of high-risk for sun damage as most people underestimate how intense the sun is during this season. To protect your skin, apply a high SPF sunscreen every morning and then reapply it before going outside. For the ultimate routine, opt to purchase a foundation or BB cream that offers both coverage and SPF protection. Moreover, don’t forget your eye cream, as this will work to resist the fine lines and wrinkles that can develop around your eyes. For the most effective product, look for one that contains a lot of antioxidants and peptides.

3. Organise a spa and salon day

Ideally, you and your girlfriends would have a spa and salon day every season as a way to pamper yourselves and spend time with each other. Whether you opt to get manicures and pedicures in vibrant new colours, try new hairstyles, or have your eyebrows tinted, this regular activity is perfect for hitting the refresh button on your beauty and self-care routine. Consider gifting your mum, best friend, or sibling with a spa day and celebrate a special occasion, milestone, or just your relationship! When planning a spa or salon day, make sure you choose one that has enough space for the group, offers the type of beauty services that you want, and whose staff go out of their way to make it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

4. Add some spring touches to your make-up bag

After the long, dark hibernating days of winter, for most people, the onset of spring instantly awakens a desire to get back outside and look more radiant. This makes it a fun time to add some new products to your make-up bag and have a dabble in the season’s must-have trends. This year, some of the biggest spring beauty trends include colourful eyeshadows, statement lips in vibrant power shades, and 60s-inspired spider lashes. Additionally, bronzer will help you achieve a Seventies-style sun-kissed look; simply take a kabuki brush and sweep it onto your cheekbones, forehead, and chin.

5. Invest in some additional learning

For some people, makeup is a passion, for others a hobby, and then there are others who are looking to take their skills to the next level and make a career of it. If this sounds like you, then look into makeup courses in Dubai (or wherever you reside) to enhance your makeup skills, while also learning how to further yourself in the industry. Alternatively, if you want to develop your skills but also want to keep beauty as a hobby, look to attend a masterclass or a seminar with your friends. It can be an educational yet bonding activity for you and your girl pals to watch makeup demonstrations, and you never know what tips and tricks you may pick up to incorporate into your beauty routine.
