Hello everyone! I hope you are all well and bearing up in the really hard times we are living at the moment. I’ve spent lots of time over the past few months researching and trying new products but I have been quite busy up until a month ago so struggled to get posts written and photos prepared. So, I have taken this opportunity as a time for me to stay positive, get writing and share all my findings with you all. I have lots of exciting posts coming and hope you will all enjoy them. Please let me know in the comments box if there is anything you would like me to review and post about. Today’s post is the start of a new monthly feature I will write showcasing my favourite skincare and beauty products. Some will be new and some will be old products I had forgotten I loved! I would love for you to list your 5 favourite products in the comments each month so we can all read and share ideas. This month is a bit of a mixed bag really. There have been some real saviours in this hot weather and some new products that have really impressed me. Enjoy the post…
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
£.7.69 for 300ml from Superdrug
This is a lovely creamy moisturiser that hydrates the skin. Used regularly it improves dry skin and helps to replenish the skin’s natural barrier. It really leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. I use this daily to moisturise my skin. I struggle with itchy skin, especially after I have been in the sun and this is the only cream that really soothes it. My daughter suffers from eczema and struggles a lot with itchy skin. I use this to soothe her and it makes such a difference. I also really like the packaging as the pump bottle is so handy to use. I literally couldn’t live without this product!
Dr. PAWPAW Tinted Ultimate Red Balm
£6.95 for 25ml from Look Fantastic This is something I ordered as I wanted to add a bit extra to an order to get free delivery and I absolutely love it! I had never heard of the brand before but it has fantastic reviews. The soothing balm contains an ingredient called fermented PawPaw which boasts natural healing qualities. The balm is creamy and applies well. It is fragrance-free and not sticky. It can be used for a variety of things but I have been using it as a lip and cheek tint. It lasts well and adds a lovely natural glow to the cheeks and lips.
Remington Cordless Wet and Dry Lady Shaver
£22.90 from Amazon This is an electric shaver that can be used wet or dry. It glides on well and doesn’t snag or cut the skin. It is smooth and easy to use and cuts close the leg. I have always used a wet razor but struggles for days after with terrible itchy legs. I ordered this after it was recommended to me and I am so happy with it. I have only been using it for two weeks but had no itchy feeling at all. It comes with a charger, a head for trimming your bikini line and a little bag to keep it in. I think this is such a bargain at £22.90! It is so quick too, just takes a few minutes.
TRESemme Pro Collection Colour ShinePlex Sulphate Free Shampoo
£4.99 for 400ml from Boots I bought this shampoo to try and help maintain my hair colour a bit longer. It is sulphate free and aims to gently cleanse the hair without stripping colour and shine. I have been using it for the past 6 weeks and I am so impressed with it. It is really gentle on my hair and leaves it feeling really soft afterwards. I have used sulphate free shampoos before but they often don’t foam and I feel like it lingers in my hair afterwards but this one is lovely. It has helped my colour last and has not really dried my hair out as much as other shampoos.
Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator
£25.00 for 30 ml from Clinique I received this as a sample and found it so hydrating. I am going through a tricky patch with my skin at the moment due to using Tretinoin (I will go into this in more detail in a future post I am writing about moisturisers). My skin is extremely dry and I really needed to add as much moisture into my skin as possible. So, I bought the full-size product and it has worked amazingly. Skin is dewy and plump and stays hydrated all day. It is supposed to help plump fine lines too. Over regular use, it will help balance skin’s moisture levels. I apply it following my cleanser, serums and face oil. I have been wearing it morning and evening, but I also add a SPF in the morning.
