Jaclyn Hill Ride or Die Makeup Tag

collection imageSo for those of you who are not following this whirlwind of tweets, blogs and YouTube videos. One of my favourite YouTubers Jaclyn Hill has started a tag asking people to list makeup products they would take to a desert island. You are only allowed to pick one for each category. So I thought it would be fun to route through my mass of makeup and take on the challenge.

Primer – Nivea Post Shave Balm – not made as a primer but works amazing and really cheap at under £5!

Eyeshadow Primer – MAC Paintpot in soft ochre

Concealer – Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer

Foundation – Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Setting Powder – MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder in light

Blush – Benefit Coralita Blusher

Lipstick – MAC Lady Danger

Mascara – Benefit They’re Real mascara

Highlighter – The Balm Mary Lou Manizer

Eyeshadow Palette – MAC Warm Neutral Palette

Bronzer –Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Eye Lashes – Ardell Natural lashes No. 101

Setting Spray – MAC Spray +

Perfume – Davidoff Cool Water Woman

It has been interesting to pick out products I once loved that I had actually forgotten about and it is funny how I buy more and more products but still actually come back to this collection of products. I find they really suit my skin and give a nice natural finish that lasts the majority of the day.

Let me know some of your Ride or Die products in the comment box, or take the challenge yourself…thanks for reading.

  1. I used to be a makeup minimalist but since brands started sending me stuff I can’t stop adding things to my routine! BUT if I had to narrow it down, it would be this… Oil cleanser by dhc; Decleor Aurabsolu intense Glow Awakening cream, a moisturiser with a really great texture that keeps skin hydrated all day; By Terry Light Expert Click Brush foundation for a gorgeous, natural finish; Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher concealer pen; Clarins Extra Firming Lip and Contour balm – a not-too-shiny lip balm; Tory Burch cream blush and Dr Hauschka powder. For my luxury I would add Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum, I can’t describe how t does what it does but…I’m hooked. And for one more luxury, Hermes Eau D’Orange Vert Eau de cologne, the most divinely refreshing citrus scent!
