Glossybox is a monthly beauty box, which is delivered to your door. It has around 5 to 6 products in it, some full size and some travel/trial size. Each month there is a great variety of products such as hair products, face creams, make up, plus much more. It is only £10.00 + P&P and the products you receive are worth a lot more.
This month’s Glossybox was guest edited by fab beauty and lifestyle blogger Estée LaLonde. The packaging is the usual pink box with products wrapped up beautifully inside. There was a good range of products inside, 4 full size and 2 trial size.
Lip Parfait – Buttery Lip Cream by Trifle Cosmetics
(Full Size – Retail Price: £12.99 from www.triflecosmetics.com)
This claims to keep lips plumped and hydrated as it is infused with vitamin E. It is a pigmented creamy nude matte shade. The packaging is gorgeous. Beautiful pastel coloured branding with card packaging. Very retro! It feels lovely on the lips and lives up to the claim of hydrating and creamy, however, the shade was too pale for me. It works well however, blended over a pink/red shade.
Secret Flush, Soothing Cream Blusher & Lip Stain Duo by Universal Beauty Cosmetics
(Full size – Retail Price: £15.00 for www.ubcosmetics.com)
This is a multi-task product, which you can apply to the apple of your cheeks or across you lips for a subtle bit of colour. I really like this product in theory but need to experiment a bit more with it as I felt the pigmentation is quite weak and I need to try and work it more into my skin to achieve a better finish. They suggest mixing it with the Lip Parfait to achieve a nice colour on the lips.
Shimmering Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse® OR by Nune
(Trial size – Retail Price: £17.00 for 50ml from M&S)
This is a dry shimmering oil for the body and hair. This is a sample-sized product. I was really excited to try this as I have never heard of the brand and never tried a body oil like this before. So it was something completely new to me. It claims it is made from 6 plant oils (Macadamia, Hazelnut, Borage, Almond, Camellia and St. John’s Wort), and will nourish, repair and soften the skin and hair. Your face and body will be left silky and smooth and shining with good health. I have read through some reviews and it seems people have applied it to the their hair to give it a subtle shine and to condition the hair and they also rub it into the face and body as a moisturising oil. I had a quick try on my arm and it leaves a lovely shimmer, not too glittery either, which is good. I am looking forward to using this more.
Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator by Bee Good
(Full size product 50ml – Retail Price: £10.50 from www.beegood.co.uk)
This was a full size product. I have to admit I LOVE exfoliators so couldn’t wait to try this! It claims to exfoliate, hydrate and calm the skin and is suitable for all skin types. It contains lavender, wheatgerm oil and British propolis. Each helping to nourish and protect the skin in different ways. I have tried this product. It is a creamy consistency with small grains to exfoliate the skin. It applied really nicely. It has a lovely subtle sweet smell too. I worked it into my freshly cleansed skin in small circular motions for a few minutes and then washed it off with warm water. My skin felt great afterwards, no tightness or dryness. I would recommend this product and will continue to use it twice a week as part of my skin care routine.
PS Pro Mattifying Primer from Primark
(Full size product 30ml – Retail price: £5.00 from Primark)
Again this is also a full size product. It claims to smooth your skin leaving a flawless natural finish, perfect under makeup or on its own. It is an oil-free primer that absorbs oil and leaves skin matte but radiant. I have never tried any Primark beauty products. I don’t tend to visit Primark much if I’m honest. The nearest one to me is 90 miles away. When I do venture into a city I struggle with Primark as it is always so manic I usually give up! However after trying this primer I am very impressed. It applied really nicely and kept my face oil free for a good 6 hours. At £5.00 too that is a bargain. I am interested in trying the other products now too.
Beauty Shampoo – Mystery Brand
The final product was something new to Glossybox as it was a shampoo but they haven’t revealed the brand or name, a bit like a mystery prize! It is a new shampoo that Glossybox subscribers are getting to try first. It is a lovely creamy shampoo that left my hair nice and silky. They are releasing the brand within the next week I think.
I am really happy with October Glossybox and I would recommend treating yourself to the Glossybox, it is really good value for money and a lovely surprise to look forward to each month. IT is available from www.glossybox.co.uk
