Today I continue with the Beauty Bloggers Brawl 2017 challenge. As mentioned in my introduction post (Introduction). The Beauty Bloggers Brawl is a daily blog post undertaken by a group of beauty bloggers who will be challenging each other to a daily top trump game reviewing beauty products. We have been given specific categories but can choose our own brand and product to review. We will rate the product, packaging and price out of 100 then create a top trump card to represent our product.
Day 3’s review is about eyeliner products.
Ultimate Long Wear Eyeliner Pen by Kiko
£6.90 from www.kikocosmetics.com
For my eyeliner product I chose Kiko’s Ultimate Long Wear Eyeliner Pen in black. I love eyeliner but it is tricky to apply. It took me a long time to be able to nail my cat flick. As a result I tend to stick to the same Rimmel Glam’Eyes eyeliner which comes with a tiny pointed brush tip. I can fully control the brush to create the shape line I want. So for this challenge I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and chose a pen style tip. They seem so much quicker and less messy to apply so I would like to get in to the hang of using one.
- Soft and flexible tip reliably follows the eye contour, allowing for an absolutely clean and precise line, with buildable thickness.
- Intensely pigmented colour.
- Allows maximum control during application and a flawless result, without smudging.
Product – 90/100
This eyeliner is good. It was unusual for me to apply in the beginning but after a few times I really like the effect. The brush is quite firm so you can get the sized line you want. The product is good though as it claims it does not come out too much. You can build it up but by bit to achieve the level of pigment you want. It has a matt finish, which lasts all day. I will continue to use this eyeliner as I am really impressed with it.
Packaging – 95/100
This packaging is sleek and glossy. It is a smooth pen than tapers in where you fingers sit, with a matt section running around it allowing you to hold it firm when drawing the line. The tip tapers in to a very fine point allowing you to use it on the side for a thicker line or at the tip for an ultra slim cat eye flick.
Price – 95/100
I think this is excellent value at £6.90. It is a really good quality product.
This was one of my favourite products from the Beauty Bloggers Brawl challenge.
