I was so excited when my first Birchbox beauty box arrived a few days ago. I love beauty boxes as they allow me to try new beauty and skincare products and brands. I had been subscribing to Glossybox for the past couple of years and fancied a change. Birchbox beauty box had such good reviews online so I opted to subscribe to it. I will review the products each month on my blog. I know realistically it is a bit late as this is the June box and it is now July but I have not had it long and still wanted to post about the fab contents.
There is a great selection of items in the beauty box, or should I say bag as it actually came in a fab waterproof toiletries bag, excellent for traveling. You could even pick which colour you received. I chose mint and lilac. The theme for this month is Daytripping. It focuses on smaller travel size products that you can easily take away with you. There are 5 products in the bag, 2 full size and 3 trial sizes.

Browliner in #022 by Meech and Mia
RRP £12.99
This is a full-size eye brow pencil, although it is small. It has a pencil style nip allowing you to sharpen to a point. You can use it to line the brow and fill in sparse areas. The texture is quite waxy which I prefer in a brow pencil as it stays put throughout the day. It is a cruelty free brand. I have not heard of this brand before. I really like this product. It applies well and lasts. My brows looked naturel.

Enhance Waterproof Eyeliner in bright by Arrow
RRP £12.00
This is a Birchbox exclusive. It is a nude coloured liner that brightens the eye. I apply it to my inner bottom waterline and just below my brow. It is long lasting, waterproof, vegan and cruelty free with a soft formula, so applies without any irritation to my eyes. With this being a trial product the size is quite handy too as it can fit into your bag easily.

Cow Pat Hand Cream by Cowshed
RRP £8.00
This is another full-sized product. I like this brand. I love the packaging and the style and I really enjoy the products too. This hand cream is really nourishing and hydrates my hands and cuticles. It absorbs into my skin easily and keeps them moisturised for several hours. It has a really lovely smell. Quite hard to describe, but mild and slightly fruity. I really like this hand cream. It is one of my favourite products in this box.

Coconut Mango Body Scrub by Scrub Love
RRP from £11.95
This sachet contains an application of exfoliating body scrub to really give your skin and energy boost and rub away dead skin cells. I had the Coconut Mango version for Normal/dry skin. It is made from whole coconuts and mangos. The coconut shell will gently exfoliate away dead skin and the natural mango butter moisturises tired skin and helps protect from harsh weather and daily damage. I applied it to my dry skin in the shower as it is quite messy. I gently massaged it into my body and then rinsed it off with warm water. It smells so good. My skin was super soft afterwards. The smell was divine too. I loved this product but it is quite expensive.

Perk Up Dry Shampoo by Amika
RRP £20
This is a travel size but I find these perfect for putting in my bag when I travel. Dry shampoo is super handy when I’m away to liven up my flat fine hair. This product smells really nice and soaks up any excess oil. It also helps hydrate dry hair. I applied it to my roots and then massaged them a bit with my fingers to add a bit of volume.
When subscribing to Birchbox beauty box, I had a code to allow me to receive some extra Lord & Berry eye products with my box.

Line/Shade Eyeliner in Dark Black by Lord and Berry
RRP £11.00
This is a lovely soft black kohl pencil. It smudges really easily and is great for a smokey eye. It is also fully waterproof. This is a full-sized product. I will be using this a lot as I really like it.

Alchimia Mascara in Black by Lord and Berry
RRP £14.00
This is also a full-size product. It claims to add definition and volume to the lashes. It applies well without clumps and is buildable to get more volume. I like the brush as it has small bristles perfect for the bottom lashes. This is a good mascara.
Overall, I am so impressed with the June Birchbox. They are all good quality brands with good products, all of which I will use. I especially like the extra Lord and Berry eye products. I have never used Lord and Berry before so it was a treat to try a new brand. This is actually one of the reasons I like beauty boxes as they allow me to try new products and brands without breaking the bank. This box costs £10.00 + £2.95 for postage and packaging. The products in this beauty box are worth a lot more so it is great value for money. I am really looking forward to July’s beauty box now. You can purchase it here.

The items seem incredible! I love the idea that they came in a bag and will be checking it out in the future. As you said, it’s always nice to get to try new brands and products! x

It is really good. There is a coffee version too that looks good.
I love the items! It seems like this is an awesome box!
It is a good combination of products. A nice variety 😊
Nice informative post.
Thanks
I’ve always wondered if it will actually be worth subscribing to one of these types of boxes! I just don’t know if you get your moneys worth each month?! Shall I get one?x
It is well worth the value as long as you will use most of the box contents. I use to get Glossybox but found after 18 months a lot of the types of products were getting similar so I wasn’t using them which made it pointless. What is good is you don’t have to subscribe to a year. I do the mo they option so I can cancel when I want to.
I’ve heard of Birchbox beauty but never tried it before. Thanks for your review. Now I know a little bit more. I love brands that are cruelty free and also brands that smell delicious. 🙂
Glad it helped 😊
