Elemis Skincare Review

Elemis Skincare Review

Following a recent visit to a local spa, I rekindled my love of Elemis skincare products. You can see the St David’s Spa review here. The following night I treated myself to lots of Elemis skincare products. I have now been using them for a few weeks and in all honesty my skin has never looked better.

Elemis Superfood Facial Oil
£37.00 from www.amazon.co.uk

Elemis Superfood Facial Oil
Elemis Superfood Facial Oil
Claims:

This is a nourishing face oil that claims to nourish, hydrate and smooth the skin, leaving it looking healthy with a radiant glow.

My Verdict:

I was still on the fence about face oils. I had tried a few but still felt unsure of their value, until this. The Superfood Facial Oil is unbelievable. It has worked absolute wonders on my skin. I apply only two drops onto my palms, warm the product in my hands and then gently dab the oil into my skin paying particular attention the areas where I get fine lines such as my forehead. I apply it after cleansing and toning morning and night.

Since the first time I used it my skin has been glowing. I even feel that my makeup looks better because of this oil. It completely lives up to the claims. My skin is hydrated and smoothed and my face looks radiant. This is without a doubt my favourite Elemis product. It is a real game changer in the skincare world and I can see why it has been winning awards. If you only want to splash out on one Elemis product then make it this oil. I can see myself using it for many years to come. In simple terms, I absolutely love it!

I also wanted to buy the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream as I had read many great reviews about it. After looking around the internet I actually ended up buying a set of Elemis Pro-Collagen products. It contained three products in total and was excellent value for money.

Elemis Treasures of the Sea Gift Set
£47.60 from www.timetospa.co.uk

This Elemis skincare set is gorgeous. It comes with a really lovely makeup bag too. It contained three products and was good value at £47.60. The eye treatment was full size and actually retails at £42.50 alone! Plus, I only planned on buying the marine cream so would not have tried the eye treatment or mask which would have been such a shame as they are fantastic products.

Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment 15ml FULL SIZE

Claims:

This is an anti-wrinkle eye serum that claims to firm, smooth and hydrate the under-eye area.

My Verdict:

I have been really surprised how much I like this eye cream. I have never really found a good eye cream. I have tried a few but always been so disappointed. This one though, has really impressed me. It is a clear gel that you dab gently under your eyes. It melts into the skin, brightens the under-eye area and leaves the skin feeling really hydrated. I apply it morning and night after my moisturiser.

I have only been using it for about a month and have seen an improvement on my fine lines. Yes, they are still there, let’s be realistic no skincare product will completely erase them. However, they have improved and are less visible which is good enough for me.

The Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment is expensive but you only need a little pump of serum to cover both eyes. This bottle will last a long time. I am so happy with the results that I feel it is worth the money. It lives up to all the claims and is a great product.

Pro-Collagen Marine Mask 15ml

Claims:

This is an anti-wrinkle face mask that claims to firm, smooth and nourish the skin.

My Verdict:

To be honest I have only tried this mask a few times. They recommend you use it twice a week, to get the best outcome, but things have been a bit manic at the moment so I have struggled to find the time for a bit of a pamper. However, when I have used it, I have been impressed. There are two ways you can use it.

  1. Apply it too freshly cleansed skin and leave for 10 minutes, then rinse off and follow with toner and moisturiser.
  2. Apply it to freshly cleansed skin and leave overnight for a more intensive treatment. Again, follow with your toner and moisturiser.

I have tried both methods. I personally like to leave it on for 10 minutes. I have been applying it to cleansed skin whilst I get ready for the shower. Then I wash it off in the shower. It leaves my skin feeling so lovely. It looks fresh, healthy and nourished. My skin is plump and really hydrated. You feel like you have treated your skin and it feels like that for a couple of days too. I can’t comment on how it works with fine lines and wrinkles as I have not used it enough.

When I wore it overnight I personally didn’t notice much difference from the 10-minute application, but to be fair my skin is fine and I do not really have any major problems with it. I think if you do suffer with problematic skin, then this method would be ideal for you to really give your skin a boost.

This is a great face mask and a lovely addition to my skincare routine. The full-size bottle is £49.50 for 50ml. There is plenty in this 15ml bottle to allow you to use it many times.

Pro-Collagen Marine Cream 30ml

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine day Cream
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Day Cream
Claims:

This is an anti-wrinkle day cream that claims to firm, smooth and hydrate the skin. This product is a cult product within the skincare industry. It is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin’s firmness and hydration in 14 days.

My Verdict:

The Marine Day Cream was the main reason I bought this Pro-Collagen set. I had heard so many positive things about it that I really wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. It is very expensive so I was intrigued to see how it compared to much cheaper products on the market. I have been using Superdrug B. skincare range for the past 6 months, (you can see a full review here) and I have been very impressed with it and it is very cheap. So how would the Elemis Marine Cream compare?

I started by applying it twice a day as recommended. I cleansed and toned and then applied the Marine Cream to my face and neck. I gently massaged the cream in to my skin. The smell of this product is so good. It smells really fresh and light, quite hard to describe, but it lingers afterwards too which is good. The cream itself is a white light formula that absorbs into the skin. Again, as with all the Elemis products I am reviewing, you can feel the quality of the product.

After a few days however, I felt my skin was a bit dry. I have combination skin. The oily T-Zone was fine with the cream. The dry areas however, needed more hydration. So, I started using my usual Superdrug B. night cream at night to give my skin a bit more of a hydration boost. I have found now that the Marine Cream and Night cream combination is providing my skin with enough moisture. It feels really plump and well nourished. If you have dry skin then I would recommend using the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich, as this will give your skin more hydration.

My Overall Verdict:

I have been so impressed with the Elemis skincare products reviewed here. The products really are great quality and they feel luxurious on your skin. When paying these prices, you want to feel pampered and lovely afterwards and they do not disappoint. I was surprised that the product I was most looking forward too, the Marine Cream was my least favourite as I feel my other moisturisers are just as good. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Superfood Facial Oil and feel that has had the most impact and positive outcomes on my skin. I think I would definitely buy the facial oil and the eye cream again. This post has really developed my love for Elemis skincare products.

I hope you found this review helpful. I would love to hear you Elemis skincare recommendations.
