As a huge fan of skincare I was excited when I was sent some new Sensse facial products to try. I posted a few images on my Instagram and have had lots of questions about the tools. I have been using them for the past 3 weeks as part of my usual skincare routine. I hope you enjoy my review.
SENSSE Hot and Cool Ultrasonic Facial Bar
£59.99 from www.amazon.co.uk
- Reduces Redness, Eye Bags, and Wrinkles With A Gentle Face Toning Massage
- Energise and brighten your skin
- Soften and relax facial muscles
- Increase moisturiser absorption
Sensee claim that the Hot & Cold Facial Bar will “give your skin an instant refresh for a lasting, radiant glow. The hot and cool mode relieves skin fatigue to energises your facial muscles and brightens tired skin. This instant pick-me-up promotes elasticity and smoothes out wrinkles to bring out your youthful side.” “The Ultrasonic vibrations increase absorption of your moisturiser while cool mode closes pores, locking in your skin care product and preventing dirt and grime buildup.”
I have been using the Sensee Hot & Cold Ultrasonic Facial Bar twice a week as part of my nightly skincare routine for the past three weeks. As instructed, I apply a bit of my moisturiser (I use the Elemis Marine Cream full review is here). I then press the button on the handle and the metal plate heats up to 42°C. I then gently massage it around my face in small circular motions.
When all the moisturiser has been blended in, I switch the button again to switch on the vibration mode. I then retrace the steps, massaging my face in small circular motions. These steps relax my face muscles and increase blood circulation. They also claim it smooths wrinkles and activates cell regrowth but I have not been using it enough really to see this.
I now press the switch again to turn the temperature down. It lowers to 6°C. I then repeat the process around my face. This feels lovely and cooling. Pressing the switch again activates the vibration mode and I finish massaging that around my face. The lower temperature sooths the face and relieves skin fatigue. They claim these steps reduce redness and puffiness and make the skin look brighter.
The Hot & Cold Facial Bar itself is very slick. It has a good shaped handle that fits easily into your hand. The only problem I found is, the plate is just a bit too big to fit into areas that are a bit smaller for example around the nose and eyes.
My Overall Opinion:
I really like this Hot & Cold Bar. It has really helped my skincare routine and take it up a notch. I really feel like my skin has had a pamper and it feels like I have been to a spa when I have used it. The use of the hot and cold temperatures activates different sensations in your face and you can feel the muscles relaxing and reacting. It leaves my skin glowing and bright as claimed. I thought it was a bit steep at £59.99 but after using it for a few weeks I can see why it is this price as it really impacts on your skin. In a nutshell, it does what it claims. The product itself is excellent quality and will last well. I am really impressed with it.
Sensse Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush and Exfoliator
£39.99 from www.amazon.co.uk
Get Radiant, Youthful Skin in 7 Days With This Gentle Exfoliating Face Brush
Sensee claim the Silicone Cleansing Brush and Exfoliator “combines thorough cleansing and anti-ageing in one device. The unique bristle pattern follows the contours of your face for deep cleansing that’s irresistible. Each silicone bristle is kind and gentle to your skin while effectively exfoliating and drawing out any dirt, excess oils, and impurities.”
I have been using the Silicone Cleansing Brush and Exfoliator morning and night as part of my skincare routine. I apply my facial wash or cleanser and then use the brush side of the silicone cleansing brush in small circular motions around my face. During this first stage, it vibrates allowing you to really cleanse and clear pores.
Pressing the button again puts the brush into standby for 3 minutes. I then wash off the cleanser and dry my face. Pressing the button activates the vibrate. I now turn the brush over and gently massage the other side of the brush around my face.
The brush has two sides. One has lots of short silicone bristles close together. This is the side you use to cleanse the skin. The other side has smaller hard nobbles which massages fine lines and wrinkles.
My Overall Opinion:
In theory this works, but I am not overly impressed. It is quite a funny shape and size and I struggled getting it around my nose, where I need to really cleanse my pores. I did not really feel like I had done a thorough cleanse. I have been using the Real Techniques Cleansing sponge and that thoroughly cleanses my pores and skin. This Silicone Cleansing Brush and Exfoliator just didn’t do it for me.
