The NYX Professional Makeup Studio Finishing Powder was a product I randomly bought and then stashed away in my draw and completely forgot about. Then a couple of months back, whilst looking through my makeup I found it and decided to give it a try.
It was good timing as the weather had started getting a bit warmer and my liquid foundations were getting a little bit oily throughout the day. I don’t really like to wear complete matte finish foundations, I like a bit of dewiness but in the summer liquid foundation can get oily on my T-Zone, as I have combination skin. So, I have written a review about the NYX Professional Makeup Studio Finishing Powder.
£9.00 from www.boots.com
- 100% pure mineral silica finishing powder is perfect for setting your foundation or alone
- A luminous white powder that goes on neutral and works on all skin tones.
- It leaves your skin looking radiant and luminous.
I apply this after my liquid foundation and concealer using a Real Techniques Contour Brush. I have never used a loose powder before as they always scared me if I’m honest. I had images of it just going everywhere and covering the floor. This packaging is very good as it has a clear lid with small holes in covering the powder, allowing you to tap the side and get a little bit of the powder out. I then gently put my brush into the powder and then tap it into the lid. This gives me enough product for the application. I then tap any excess off on the side of the lid before dabbing the brush onto my face. I apply it under my eyes to set my concealer and over cheek bones, where I tend to get oily through the day.
The packaging is good. The casing is a hard plastic with a see-through base allowing you to see how much product is left. The lid is a matte black with white writing.
NYX Professional Makeup Studio Finishing Powder is very finely milled and applies really nicely onto my skin. You cannot see it at all and my skin does not feel cakey or heavy. It completely sets my makeup and most importantly keep my oil at bay all day. I didn’t need to touch up at all. As I mentioned earlier though, I have combination skin so if your skin is very oily you may need to touch up later in the day. It does not irritate any of my dry patches either.
I am very impressed with the NYX Professional Makeup Studio Finishing Powder. I cannot believe I left this little gem sitting in my draw for months!
