My Gorgeous New MAC Eyeshadow Palette

On my recent holiday, I hit the duty-free shops in the airport and treated myself to some goodies at the MAC counter. Mac is one of my favourite brands and has been for many years. Their products are just fantastic quality and apply lovely. Today’s review is looking at the Burgundy Times Nine eyeshadow palette.

One of my most used palettes is the MAC Warm Neutral eyeshadow palette. I have used this constantly for the past 2 years. It is so versatile. You can read a full review here. The only thing that ever put me off was the size of the actual palette. It contains 15 shadows but is quite big to travel with so I tend to only use it in the house. For a while now I have been dying to try the smaller 9 eyeshadow palettes so could not resist when I saw them in the airport with 20% off. I bought the Burgundy Times Nine Palette as I love the colours and think they are perfect for Autumn and Christmas.

This compact sexy little palette features 9 shadows ranging from shimmery champagne pinks to rich warm burgundy colours. There is such a good range of colours you can create many looks with this palette for both day and night occasions. There is a variety of textures and finishes; 2 mattes, 2 satins, 1 Lustre, 2 Velvets and 2 Velvet Pearls.

  • Dermatologist tested
  • Ophthalmologist tested
  • Non-acnegenic
  • Safe for contact lens wearers
  • Can be used wet or dry

The packaging for MAC eyeshadow palettes, I feel is the only thing I dislike. I think they are cheap looking. It is a hard-black plastic casing with a clear lid. It is good as you can see the colours, but I would rather have a covered lid with a mirror inside. I really like the size of this palette though. It is a great size to pop in my travel bag.

MAC have always been on top of their game when it comes to eyeshadows and I think no other brands beat their eyeshadow quality and colour range. As expected these eyeshadows apply lovely. All apply nice to the eyelid, especially the Lustre and Satin finish shadows. My favourite colours are Honey Lust and Star Violet.

  1. Honey Lust: Bronzedipped peach (Lustre)
  2. Poppyseed: Midtone mauvey nude (Satin)
  3. Quarry: Soft muted plum brown (Matte)
  4. Antiqued: Ash brown with bronze (Veluxe Pearl)
  5. Embark: Intense reddish brown (Matte)
  6. #Noir: Deep black brown w/ gold pearls (Velvet)
  7. Haux: Soft muted rosy brown (Satin)
  8. Star Violet: Pinky brown plum (Veluxe Pearl)
  9. Sketch: Burgundy with red shimmer (Velvet)

I absolutely LOVE this palette. The colour range is gorgeous, the quality is great and the size of the palette makes it perfect to easily fit in your makeup bag. The colours last all day and there is little fall out. I think this is good value for MAC eyeshadows at £25 for 9 shadows. You can purchase it from here.

  1. I love looking at palettes and MAC outdid themselves with the colors in this beautiful palette. I’ve been using a range of different palettes, and my focus has been pigmentation. I feel that I might have to layer the colors on a little bit more, they just don’t seem as pigmented to me from the swatch. Maybe the camera causes it to lose a little of the pigmentation. Either way, I love it!

    1. Yes I feel the camera does not do them justice. They are lovely colours. Pigment better on Matt ones.
