After watching a Caroline Heron’s tutorial, I bought this cleansing duo from Clarins as she really raved about their skincare products and I respect her honest opinion as she is an excellent skin consultant and blogger. I have Normal to dry/combination skin and the website recommended the correct products for my type of skin.
I bought a set containing a cleanser, toner and eye makeup remover. It came with a lovely makeup bag and was excellent value compared to buying the products separately. It contained a full size Cleansing Milk 200ml and Toning Lotion 200ml, as well as travel size Instant Eye Make-Up Remover 30ml. It cost £36.00. The cleanser and toner are £21 each when bought separately! You can buy it from here.
I hope you enjoy my review.
Cleansing milk with Alpine herbs and Moringa
- A gentle water free cleansing milk that removes makeup and impurities
- Fully cleanses the skin
- Maintains the skin’s perfect moisture balance for optimum comfort and radiance
- Leaves skin feeling soft, supple and perfectly refreshed
I apply this cleanser twice a day. I squeeze a little onto my fingers and gently rub it into my skin. I then follow Clarins recommendation of pressing onto my skin with my full hand and lifting gently to get a suction effect. Clarins suggest this method of application pulls all the impurities out of your skin cells. I then use a warm damp muslin cloth to wipe off all the product and clean off my face. I find that it makes quite a mess and doesn’t completely remove eye makeup, so I actually use my Garnier micellar water to remove my eye makeup first you can read my full review of this product here. I have been using the Clarins Cleansing Milk in the evenings
I really like this cleanser. It has been one of the best I have used. It has a lovely creamy formula that feels nice on the skin. It is gentle and leaves my skin feeling very soft. My skin does not feel dry or tight afterwards. It cleans my skin well and my leaves my skin looking fresh. There are no strong smells, which is something that often puts me off products.
Toning Lotion with Camomile – Dry Normal Skin
- Alcohol free lotion
- Gently removes all traces of Cleansing Milk
- Stimulates and refreshes the skin while respecting its natural pH and moisture level.
- Leaves skin perfectly clean
I apply the toner twice a day after cleansing. I use a cotton pad and gently wipe it across my face.
I’m always wary when using toners as my skin can get quite dry and I often find toners dry it out more and make it feel tight. This toner was not too bad. It did still make my dry patches feel a bit tight, so what I have been doing is focusing itt on my T-Zone, then gently wiping what is left on the cotton pad over my cheeks and neck. This way the majority of the toner is being applied to my less dry/oilier areas. It makes my skin feel very refreshed and I feel it wakes my skin up.
Instant Eye Make-Up Remover
- Eliminates residue and impurities without irritating
- Removes waterproof make-up
- Soothes and softens the eye contour area.
- Strengthens lashes
I applied it to the eye area using cotton pads. I gently patted and wiped the area until all makeup had disappeared.
I was not won over by this product. I actually felt like I needed a lot of product to remove all my eye makeup and I do not even wear a lot. My mascara is not waterproof and still seemed to be on the lashes after wiping. I think it is no better than my Garnier Micellar water which is a fraction of the price.
This is a nice set and feels like a real treat to the skin when you use it. The cleanser is lovely and I would happily purchase this again. My skins feels nice after using this. The toner is okay but I am not keen on using toners. If you like toners as part of your routine then this is a great one to try, especially if you have oily skin. The eye makeup remover did not impress me at all. The price of this set is excellent value for £36.00. The bag is very nice and I use it all the time when traveling. The cleanser and toner are also full size which is great.
