March Birchbox Review

It’s that time of the month again and my gorgeous Birchbox beauty box has arrived. There is a exciting array of beauty products inside of yet another gorgeous box. I’m building up a collection of these boxes now and as storage for my makeup they really look lovely on my dressing table. This month’s theme is aimed at busy women who spend all their time multitasking what feels like a million tasks! They believe the products will help make things a bit easier for us. Hope you like the review.

‘You go girl’ Bronzer Compact by the Beauty Crop

Full size product RRP: £8.00

This is a cute little bronzer, ideal for keeping in your bag and touching up throughout the day. It is available in two shades. I have found it applies smoothly. It is quite subtle on my skin tone but is buildable. It has a matte finish which I prefer. It is antioxidant-rich and contains green tea to energise and refresh the skin. They claim it to be a long lasting formula. Can be dusted over cheeks and face for a warm glow or dabbed on eyelids for a dash of colour. I like the texture of this bronzer. It is smooth and light on the skin. The colour is subtle so could be used on a variety of skin tones.

Eyebrow Cream by Chella

Trail size / Full size RRP: £20.00

This is an interesting product as it is an eyebrow cream. I have only really used pencils on my eyebrow so was new to this type of product. It is a cool design as one end is an angled brush and the other is a removable pot of cream. They claim it is a long lasting product that will make brows look natural. I was actually surprised but I really liked this. It applies really easily and looks quite natural. The colour is slightly dark for me but still looks fine. Here is an image to show the effect (please excuse the face – I have no makeup on). The left hand brow has the product on.

Ultraviolet Brightening Clay Mask by Generation Clay

Trial size / Full size RRP: £28.50

We had a choice of masks between a clay detox mask and this brightening mask. I chose this one as I have tried a few clay detox masks and this looked interesting. My skin is quite dull from the winter weather and I was hoping this would help. It is packed with fruits to brighten, boost hydration, reduce oil and minimise pores. I found this a good mask. It applies thickly and dries hard like a clay mask. I left it on for about 5 minutes and my skin looked nice after it. I do feel it is very expensive though. I use a clay mask by Superdrug B and love it and it is a lot cheaper. You can read the review post here.

Midas Touch Revitalising Cream by Emma Hardie

Trial size / Full size RRP: £44.00

This is a hydrating face cream. They claim it is rich in hydraulic acid along with marine and botanical extracts to nourish, moisturise and plump skin. I have applied this and it feels lovely. It is very expensive though. I personally wouldn’t pay this for face cream as there are so many excellent face creams on the market at a fraction of the price.

Glitter Body Scrub by BOD

Full size RRP: £4.99

This is a body scrub. It contains glitter to make the body glow. I have the Brown Sugar & Honey one. It is a vegan product which is great. It claims to be filled with lots of gentle ingredients to slough away dead skin and leave skin soft. I really didn’t like this product. It is thick to squeeze out and does not look nice as it is a dark brown with bits of gold glitter in. When applied it is hard to rub evenly as it is too thick. It drops all over the bath. Afterwards I could not actually see much change in my skin. No elements of glitter or shimmer so I’m not to sure what the purpose of the glitter is.

Eternity by Calvin Klein

Trial size / Full size RRP: £35.00

I was excited to get this perfume sample in the box this month. This was my favourite perfume as a teenager and the smell brings back lots of lovely memories. It’s hard to review a perfume in a blog post. All I can say is the smell is lovely! It’s quite sweet and summery.

Overall a good box, except the Glitter Body Scrub. I do feel the products are a little bit more expensive this month and I don’t think I would actually repurchase many of them due to the cost, but it is nice to try new brands and products I have not come across before. Thee were only 2 full size products too.

You can subscribe to the box or purchase individual products from the Birchbox site. The box is £10.00 + £2.99 postage. I have two codes: get your first box for £5 (+£2.95 P&P) with code LUCKY5 and get a FREE full-size Lottie London eyeshadow palette with your March box, using code GOGIRL (if this offer is still available).
