My Favourite MAC Face Products

I am a huge fan of MAC face products and even after all my years of being a beauty junkie and writing my blog I still have to say they are one of my favourite brands. I wear their face products every day so thought I would post about them today.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

£26.00 for 15ml from MAC

  • Gives a smooth flawless matte finish
  • Medium to full coverage
  • Velvety texture
  • Allows skin to breathe
  • Long-wearing, 8 hours
  • Reduces appearance of pores
  • Controls oil and shine
  • Non-drying, non-caking, non-settling, non-streaking
  • For all skin types, especially oily skin
  • Provides stay-true colour

I was never a big fan of powder foundations as I felt you could always see them on the face but I love this one. I wear this every day, all year round. I use a big fluffy powder brush and apply a light layer to my skin and buff it in. It looks natural and is lightweight. It has a matte finish but I spray over the top with a setting spray which sets the powder to leave a more natural skin like finish. I have three sprays I tend to like, MAC Prep & Prime setting spray, the Body Shop setting spray and Urban Decay All nighter Setting spray. I am happy to say this powder foundation absolutely hits all these claims. It is long lasting, reduces the appearance of pores and in non-drying. It is available in an amazing 53 shades. I wear N2. It is handy to keep in your bag for touch ups. It has a good mirror in it and a sponge applicator is also tucked under the powder.

MAC Studio Face & Body Foundation

£26 for 50ml from MAC

  • A comfortable, lightweight fluid foundation
  • Low to medium buildable coverage
  • Natural satin finish
  • Moisturising and long wearing

I have loved this foundation for many years now and always come back to it after trying others. It is a bit of a cult classic on the catwalks. I wear this as a day foundation if I want a bit more coverage than my Studio Fix Powder and have a bit more time to get ready. It is a very watery fluid and when buffed into the skin it is so lightweight I cannot feel it on my skin, which is a big thing for me as I cannot stand heavy foundation on my skin. I feel like I am wearing a mask. I know this foundation will not be for everyone as it is very low coverage however, it is buildable to a medium coverage. It leaves a satin finish and looks very natural on the skin. I apply my NYX professional studio HD powder on top. It is long lasting but I find it can make my t-zone a bit oily in the hotter weather. Definitely lives up to the claims. It is available in 13 shades. I wear NW2.

£18.50 for 7ml from MAC

  • A lightweight fluid concealer provides seamless coverage, blurs imperfections
  • Skin looks fresh and perfected with a natural matte finish that’s never dry or cakey.
  • Smoothes Skin
  • Long-wearing, non-setting, non-streaking and non-caking
  • Stays put for 24 hours
  • Oil-free
  • For all skin types

I have only been using this for the past few weeks. I felt I needed a bit more coverage in some areas but did not want to wear a heavier foundation. This is ideal to give more coverage to certain areas such as under my eyes and around my nose which is a bit red at times. This applies lovely and blends in easily. It has a creamy texture but is not as thick as other concealers I have tried. I only apply a few drops and I use my finger to tap it in. I then blend the last bits in with a brush. It sits well under my powder foundation and over my liquid foundation too and stays put all day. It is available in 33 shades.

I hope you enjoyed my review. Let me know if you try these or have any other MAC favourites in the comments box below.
