REVIEW: Anthelios Shaka Ultra-Light Facial Sun Cream SPF50 by La Roche-Posay

wearing sun cream

It is really important to look after your skin and protect it from the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays that over time really damage our skin causing early ageing, dark spots and other serious problems. Plus, nowadays with so many more people are wearing Retinol type products that it is a must that we wear a SPF every day.

Today’s post reviews Anthelios Shaka Ultra-Light Facial Sun Cream by La Roche-Possay. In past years, I have always used a standard sun cream all over my body which has resulted in my face looking really greasy and makeup sliding off. So, I started my search for the perfect face sun cream. I wanted to ensure the sun cream absorbed nicely in to my skin, was not heavy or greasy and makeup could be worn over it and would stay in place all day. I researched a lot of different products and this was receiving fantastic reviews. Enjoy my review!

My Verdict:

The Anthelios Shaka Ultra-Light Facial Sun Cream is a very high face sun protection for normal to combination skin so it suits my skin perfectly. I cleanse, tone, add my serums and then use this as the last step of my skincare routine. You have to really shake the bottle to mix the fluid up. I then apply it to my fingers and rub it gently into my skin. It is a watery white liquid. It does not really have a smell. It applies really well and absorbs into the skin nicely. My skin feels hydrated afterwards with no drying. It leaves quite a matte finish which I like as a base for my makeup. My makeup applies fine on top with no peeling or problems. I have tried powder foundation and liquid, both have been fine. I have also tried it with a makeup primer and without and again both work fine. My makeup stays in place all day and I have not found my skin looking greasy at all throughout the day.

I am really impressed with this sun cream. You do not feel like you are wearing a sun cream as it is so light on your skin. It is great to finally find a sun cream that I can wear on my face each day and not have my makeup gone by lunchtime. It is slightly expensive at £16.20 for 50ml as the bottle is quite small, but you use hardly any product and it is only for the face and neck so will actually last a long time. It is also great to know that all La Roche-Possay products are Paraben and perfume free too.

You can purchase it at Boots and other shops.
