The Body Shop Skincare Review – Vitamin C Range Part 1

Following the success of my posts reviewing The Body Shop Makeup last month, I have decided to write a series of posts reviewing their skincare products. I was given a large selection to try based on my main concerns; dull, dehydrated and fine lines. There will be 4 posts in the series; The Vitamin C Range (2 parts), Eye products and Facial oils.

Today’s post focuses on the Vitamin C range. I have been keen to introduce some vitamin C into my skincare routine so was very try these products. The main aim to this range is to refresh your skin and give it a glowing boost of radiance. The whole range has the most gorgeous orange smell which I love. I tried quite a few products within this range, so I have split them into two posts. Enjoy my review!

Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel

£18.00 for 145ml

  • This transforming gel-to-peel texture peels away dull, tired city skin for a happy healthy glow
  • The PH of the gel helps to release surface cells
  • Contains our most potent Camu Camu Berry
  • 60 times more Vitamin C concentration than an orange
  • targets pollutants that are left sitting on the skin at the end of the day
My Verdict:

If you have not used a Body Shop peel then you may find it a bit odd at first. You pump the gel like liquid into your fingertips and then apply it to your cleansed skin. You massage it in for about 20 seconds until you start to feel bits of the product peeling away from your skin. You then rinse it off with water. They suggest using it 2-3 times a week. I am unsure with this product. I love my skin after I have applied it as my skin feels very soft, cleansed and refreshed, but I am not keen on the peels. I find it quite messy as it drops everywhere once it starts peeling off and I just don’t like how it feels in my fingers. I know many people are huge fans of the peel products but they are just not for me.

Vitamin C Glow Boosting Microdermabrasion

£18.00 for 100 ml

  • Contains fine exfoliating micro particles and crushed garnet stones
  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
  • Gives skin a brighter, more radiant look
  • Improves skin texture and tone
My Verdict:

This was not a first review for me. I have actually been using this product for a few months and really like it. I use it twice a week in the shower after cleansing. I apply it to my fingers and massage it into my face. It gently exfoliates my skin, removing any dead skin cells and leaves my skin feeling really lovely and smooth afterwards. My skin always looks brighter and glowing when I have used it. I would definitely recommend this. It is a great exfoliator that does its job without making your skin feel tortured. I often find exfoliators can be quite harsh on my skin but this has just the right number of particles and consistency. It is one of my favourite products in the Body Shop skincare range.

Vitamin C Daily Glow Cleansing Polish

£11.00 for 125ml

  • A daily radiance-revealing facial wash cleanses and exfoliates skin in one step.
  • Micro beads gently buff away dull skin cells
  • Leaves skin feeling fresh and smooth
  • Enhances skin’s natural radiance
My Verdict:

This is a good daily wash. It has particles in that also exfoliate the skin whilst cleansing. The consistency is a cross between a gel and a face wash. It would be suitable for all skin types. Personally, I find that my normal cleanser and the Microdermabrasion is enough for my skin. You would not have to use both this cleansing polish and the microdermabrasion. One or the other would be enough exfoliation. I hope you enjoyed my post reviewing the Vitamin C range part 1. All three of these products are lovely and leave my skin feeling very cleansed, refreshed and looking brighter. I think they would suit most skin types as they are not drying or oily. I think the only downside of this range really is that they are quite high priced. However, saying that they are very good quality products that work. The Body Shop are also really good as they have lots of offers on, especially if you have a rep local to you.
