My Summer Skincare Routine

Summer Skincare Routine

Hi Everyone. I am always getting asked about my skincare routine and the products I love and use daily so thought I would do an updated skincare routine for you all today. I do alternate some days depending on how my skin feels but on the whole, this is the routine I tend to use. Enjoy the post.

Morning Routine:

Beauty Pie Jeju Daily am/pm Multi-Phase Purifying Cleansing Milk

£11.75 for 190 ml from Beauty Pie (Price is based on a monthly subscription)

Beauty Pie Jeju Cleansing milk

I love this creamy cleanser. It works as a balm oil when you first apply it and then milks up to a creamy cleanser with water. Leaves skin soft and cleansed with no dryness. Full review here.

Sunday Riley CEO Glow

£34 for 15ml from Cult Beauty

Sunday Riley CEO Glow

This is an antioxidant vitamin C product which contains Turmeric oil and evening primrose oil. It brightens and hydrates your skin and leaves it glowing. It is quite expensive but a little goes a long way! I use a few drops and pat into my skin. My skin is left glowing after this.

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

£16 for 15ml from Look Fantastic

Balance me Wonder eye cream

I apply a small amount of this eye cream to hydrate the skin around my eyes.

The Ordinary Buffet Serum

£12.70 for 30ml from The Ordinary

The Ordinary buffet

I mix 3 drops of Buffet with 3 drops of Niacinamide and pat them into my skin. It is a peptide anti-ageing serum. Full review here.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

£5.00 for 30ml from The Ordinary

The ordinary Niacinamide

As mentioned above I add this to Buffet. When my skin is super dry I also add in a few drops of The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. Niacinamide is great for reducing congestion and blemishes on the skin. It also helps to restore the skin barrier which can be damaged from other skincare products and the sun. It helps even out skin texture and is really a good all-rounder. Full review here.

Nivea Sun UV Face SPF 30 Q10 Anti-Age & Anti-Pigments

£7.99 for 50ml from Superdrug

Nivea Q10 SPF cream

I have been wearing this every day through the hot weather. It contains Q10 which is great for anti-ageing and helps prevents wrinkles and fine lines caused by the sun. It is really rich and nourishing so acts as a moisturiser too. Full review here.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser

£16 for 50 ml from The Body Shop

The Body Shop Vitamin C Moisturiser

If I am not planning on leaving the house then I use this lovely refreshing hydrating gel. Full review here. If I choose to go out later then I spray some La Roche-Posay Anthelios Anti-Shine Sun Protection Invisible SPF50+ Face Mist on top. Full review here.

Evening Routine:

Garnier Micellar Water Sensitive Skin

£5.99 for 400ml from Superdrug

Garnier Micellar Water Combination Skin

I use this to remove any makeup. I add it to a cotton pad and gently wipe away makeup. If I am not wearing Makeup then I don’t use this.

Japanfusion™ Pure Transforming Cleanser

£7.51 for 100ml from Beauty Pie ( Price is based on a monthly subscription)

Beauty Pie Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser

This is a rich cleanser. It works as an oil balm consistency at first then turns to a lovely milky creamy texture when you add water. This removes any remaining traces of makeup, cleanses my skin and leaves it feeling hydrated. Full review here.

I then alternate my night routine:

Night 1:

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

Dermatica Tretinoin

£22.89 per month from Dermatica

Dermatica

I have been subscribed to this prescription treatment for 4 months now. I have not fully reviewed it as I want to get a true opinion of the product and how it has changed my skin. Tretinoin is the next step up from retinol. You can only get this through a prescription. Dermatica allows you to pay a monthly fee and receive the product through the post. Their website allows you to communicate with dermatologists, upload photos and they review your skin ensuring you are getting the correct strength of the product. My prescription is Tretinoin 0.025% / Niacinamide 4% lotion. I use this to help anti-ageing, fine lines and wrinkles, even out my skin tone and reduce redness. It is also excellent for acne and many people use it to reduce acne and major blemishes. It works by encouraging collagen which boosts cell rejuvenation to leave better skin. It is very strong though, and I have struggled to get my skin to cope with it which is why I only use it every other night. It leaves my skin sore and sensitive to other products. This is reducing now but in the beginning, it was bad. My skin is still very dry from the use of tretinoin though.

The Ordinary Moisturiser

£6.80 for 100ml from The Ordinary

The Ordinary Moisturiser

This is a simple but hydrating moisturiser. I always use it after my Tretinoin as it never irritates my skin and leaves it moisturised.

Night 2:

On nights where I do not use tretinoin, my key aim is to add as much hydration back into my skin as I can. Full review here.

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

The Ordinary Buffet Serum

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser

£23.99 for 30ml from Superdrug

Clinique moisture surge

This is a lovely gel lightweight moisturiser. It leaves my skin really hydrated. It is very refreshing. I often use different moisturisers at this stage depending on how I feel and what I am trialling at the time but this is my favourite one. Full review here.

About once a week I will use a mask or exfoliator to clear my skin congestion and give my skin a really boost. My favourites are:

AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

£6.30 for 30ml from The Ordinary

The Ordinary AHA peel

I also use this every week or so on a non-tretinoin night. It is a great exfoliator to clear skin and congestion and improve skin radiance. It really boosts my skin and leaves it looking amazing. Full review here.

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

£18 for 75ml from The Body Shop

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

This is a hard drying clay mask that cleanses deep into my skin. It draws out impurities and congestion and refines the appearance of pores for healthy-looking skin. My skin feels and looks great after using this. It absorbs excess oil to so is suitable for all skin types. I actually reviewed this a couple of years back. The full review is here.
